Imagine my surprise when I came upon “That Dragon, Cancer“. Video games are generally more suited to escapism than intimacy. In this game Ryan and Amy Green share the story of raising their young son Joel who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. “That Dragon, Cancer” is one of an increasing number of personal, autobiographical games that are generating new conversations within, and outside, the gaming world.
Check out this documentary on the making of the game.

Some players leave their computer speechless and in tears; others finish and seek out conversations and comfort. Me, I couldn’t wait to Post the story.
What a wonderful new option of play in the gaming world!
